disOrienting Stage and Film LLC, founded by Cynthia Granville, presents work for the stage and for the camera, work that seeks to leave its audience seeing the world slightly differently than when they came.

Teaching and mentoring are important to our focus on the artist.  Summers find Cynthia at NYU Gallatin's Summer Theatre Institute, directing/developing the work of emerging playwrights as Associate Producer and Casting Director. She spent two years at the Bergen County (NJ) Teen Arts Festival with "YouTube in a Cube," about web video creation from initial screenplay idea through post production. She has taught after school enrichment programs in drama and video production throughout New Jersey and in Westchester.    

SMOKE SCREEN, a feature film which Cynthia produced, is now available on Amazon Prime and other platforms.  Check out this edgy, eerie caper thriller! 

Festival news: Michelle F. Hartley's DON'T HOLD BACK (Cynthia as shooter/associate producer/editor) continued its festival run, winning the Louis Mitchell Award and was nominated as best short-short at Action on Film Festival, where several of our films have screened. 
Cynthia was the casting director of PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.  FATHER'S DAY, a SAG-AFTRA project we produced for its writer-star, premiered at Big Apple Film Festival: director/editor.  THE PILGRIM, also a short produced for its author, has screened at several fests including New Filmmakers NY, and MENTAL HEALTH (producer/director/shooter) premiered at AOF.

IN MEMORIAM continues to be seen, most recently at the Spotlight On Festival 2017 in New York City.  We had previously screened in NY at New Filmmakers, the Flint Film Festival , Cape May Film Festival , and GIAA Festival in NYC. Selected for a Special Educational Shorts Award at  Columbia Gorge International Film Festival, we have also screened at Action on Film,  Art of Brooklyn , and Jersey Shore Film Festival(Honorable Mention, Shorts).  We premiered at Swansea Bay Film Festival (Wales) and in the U.S. at SOL Film Festival in Haverstraw, NY.  The collateral damage of war is seen through the eyes of a thirteen year old girl.  Writer/director/editor.  View the trailer here.  The full film is now available on Vimeo.

Two artist-generated projects at film festivals include "First Date," here, and "The Vibe."  "First Date" premiered in April at the River Bend Film Festival.  "The Vibe" premiered August 16 at Columbia Gorge IFF, where "First Date" also played, and both films also screened at Action on Film.
